I asume you are talking about the aiplane, Idon't know who that old coot is holding it. Hey Shultzie, this has the same tight corner that Gene Mathenys old stunter had. It turns sharp and I don't have to fly it as fast as gene had to. I recon you will get to see it fly sooner or later. I'm havin fuuuuuuuunnnnnnnn!~!!!!?<?<
If you remember...this model was extremely light in weight...grooved beautiful...even in rather windy conditions..BUT HAMMERED THE TIGHTEST turn radius of any model that I have ever flown.
That day after Gene let both Tim and I fly that plane...Tim HAD TO BUILD ONE for the 68 nats..that was less than a month away.
Unfortunately after all that work...That was the model that lost its life waaay too soon-----on the trip back to the Kansas Nationals, after the UHaul car top carrier parted ways off his wide track Pontihorse roof and landed in a wheat field about 400 feet over the fence where that beautiful Bright Red new Genie Bird...took the full impact of the suitcases that were packed inside with the awesome flying little model.
At least I got to test fly that Genie model of Tim's at Rawlings Wy. the night before. Tim's model being slightly more tail heavy than Gene's..turned corners even tighter but still retained that smooth steady level flight attitude.
I think his young son Vance was more upset that the rest of us. He was crying as we paced back and forth around that CRASH SCENE...picking up bright red pieces of new airplane parts that still had that lingering smell of fresh Aerogloss red dope fumes.
