Did Derek's Matrix make the trip?  I would expect it to be right up there in appearance points.

Derek's was on the front row at the far end of that picture.  It's pretty cool, too.

How many models have been crunched by people over the years?

Wouldn't it be a little safer if they were cordoned off by a 10" barrier?

Gotta go one of these years just to watch. Beautiful planes!

I never thought I would see Double slotted Fowler type flaps on a competiton stunt ship. Unbelievable-what would they do in a stunt ship?

Good photos of the planes.  The space art is awesome.   The plane with the multiple flaps remind me of an airliner taking off or landing.  Also I don't think the concourse award will be known until banquet time.   H^^

Yes, that is Howard's white Impact, front row and flying quite well also.  He was smiling after last nights flying session, good to see after his earlier frustrations.  I just returned from the field.  The outside temperature is 94 and it is supposed to warm up!  Tough on us Northwest boys.

I'm wondering if part of Sparky's trouble is uploading .png files? Those are supposed to be thumbnails for .jpg (or maybe other file types?). Try uploading .jpg's and see if that works better. I have had nothing but trouble with .png's, anyway. Maybe somebody who knows more about file extensions could 'splain it?

Anyway, it's good to see all the pictures and looking forward to seeing more. Good luck and good flying to all! And Mike...I want to hear that you did some good H8's!!!  HB~> Steve

Kaz added a little decor' to a few of our models this evening with little flag stickers or his country and ours.  Kinda cool.

Dan tried to fly the jet last night but it wouldn't light off.  Thunder and lightening put the kibosh on any flying tonight, at least while I was there.  Who knows about Danny, he may have flown anyway :o

Dany flew the jet this evening. Earlier lightning and threats of rain cleared the L-Pad. Only a few saw the great spectacle. Paul Winter and his entourage kept off the pad in the protective enclosure of an SUV, until the shrieking bird was off, the pipe glowing red. Beautiful sight in the Muncie twilight. Loops, squares, inverted. Dan tried an AMA eight but bailed, possibly too near the end of tank. Prope Oxide and 87 Octane, 50/50, a friendly mix. Ignition after three or four pumps on the bicycle pump. Thanks to the Moonies and Mike Scott for manning the pump, the shock box and launching. 3.6 second laps. The 18.5 ounce chicken hopper should hold enough for a pattern with the right 87 octane mix.

Classic and Old Time today. Flown off the green (and yellow). Muncie is dried out, the grass brillo on the knees. Watch it.

And... the uncalled for price of gasoline!

Part of it is certainly the lack of West coast participants. I am not there, Dave is running it, Ted is judging, and the dozens of guys who would like to go and some of which had previously attended have gotten worn down with the "2 weeks of driving for 4 flights" issue.

Might want to see how this all looks if you add another skill class - no point in having 2 days of qualifying any more if there aren't 20 participants in a class.

I know this is my fault but I am a lot closer and get 4 flights for 100.00 plus hotel. I'm dead last on my circle due to lack of practice. I wish it was at the end of the season instead of the begining. Oh well i'm here and having fun.

It would be wonderful to have the Nats at rotating locations again, but we have all heard the never ending argument of cost to AMA. And if we wanted our own Stunt Nats, or CL Nats would we be welcome back to  Muncie at a later date??

Travel above 500 miles is common for most. 1000mi, 1500 mi, 2500 mi....... it is not fair to a large number of people, particularly with today' s expenses.

That is the reason that I have been not been to the Nats in 12 years, and it is killing me.  It is hard to get to many "local" contests, because "local" can be 250 mi.

It is not getting better. I hope that one day I can stop saying "Next year".

Meanwhile, keep please the pictures coming, making the connection to us who are not there. Robert, we really appreciate your efforts.
