I am ready to start the finish. Today it will get 2 coats of clear. Weight of the airframe is 21.2 Ounces. I have 9 ounces to finish this in. The sanding will take a while. I will post pics as I go.
By the way all the hardware (concentrated weight) weighs 27.10 ounces. Almost a ton.

All covered and two coats of dope over the whole plane. I put it all together to see where I have to come out. I am at 49 ounces as is. So I figure with seven or eight ounces of finish I should be around 56-57 ounces ready to fly.
As seen here I could fly it everything is on it including .5 ounce wing tip weight.

I need to paint it, to bring it into balance. No Dumb Dumb added, I did order a lighter spinner 7 grams CF. I will add it when it arrives. That means less paint. Less paint, less wood, less battery = Less weight = good

Looks great Sparky, and it should be done for the September contest?

It seems I always miss a rib or two. For me its hard to see the fit at the leading edge and trailing edge until the covering is on. SO I covered this wing and found out I had 2 low ribs. I was going to let it slide but only 2 ribs from having a otherwise exceptional I beam wing didn't seem right. I am not pressed for time so I opened the covering up and raised those two ribs. I had thought about it all night and could not help myself from fixing it.
Now I am not talking about much maybe .015 but it sure would stick out when painted.
