« on: August 01, 2013, 01:18:47 PM »

Guy's I am gonna use one or the other in finishing a new model, and I want to know if yellow & black in each of these brands will be fuel proof/resistant?

  Thanks a lot...

Rustoleum Gloss Protective Enamel will be.

I can't speak to Krylon.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I second that.

it's been my experience that Krylon is not fuel proof.  I still prefer it since I always clear coat it with Nason two-part.  It dries so much faster and i like most of the colors better.  But that's just me.

Sparky pointed out in a recent thread that Krylon has changed their formula.  They used to sell laquer, but they've changed to enamel for better conformance to environmental regulations, at least with their "consumer" paints.

Soon we'll all be painting with watercolors.  Does anyone know how fuel proof milk paint is?

I used some of the Krylon lacquer base several years ago and still had problems with it as far as not being fuel proof.  I wouldn't use even that if I had it without clear coating it.
