I prefer Sig because I had some and decided to stick with one brand

Others will say they like the Brodak for same reason

Most will say that Randolph from an aircraft supplier is the best to use

and Most all will tell you to pick one and don't mix brands

Brodak's dope is produced by Randolph as is Sig. I have mixed them without a problem.

I've used both and have seen no difference.

Being new to this wonderful stuff that we call dope, I have since used Randolph Non - tautening  clear over Sig Supercoat both mixed with lacquer thinner without any problems. But this is just my start in using the stuff.

Sig Supercoat is shrinkier than Brodak.  I got some baggy silk with Brodak and asked Windy for advice.  He said to use Supercoat, which shrank the silk nicely.  Now I use Randolph tautening, Randolph nontautening, Randolph thinner, and Brodak retarder in various combinations.  I feel that I am in control now.

Be careful when ordering Randolph clear butyrate in gallon cans.  What I got was "tinted" clear dope (not really clear, was it?).  I can use it for undercoating, but not top coat.
