Well, I got away with 3rd place in Huntersville, not as well as I flew in practice, but not bad for my first go at it. I was assigned to fly first at 9:00 this morning. I missed 2nd place by a badly botched landing on the second flight and about 2 points.
I
never nose over... but I did landing it in the grass today. My maneuvers were decent and I did get my pattern points on both flights. The engine runs were good. I bought a gallon of Powermaster 10/22 and the Thunder Tiger seemed to really love it. Perfect power through the whole routine.
So I'll be winding this thread down as I graduate to my Skyray and a Clown-like plane designed by Watt Moore, who may be familiar to those of you who have been around this region. In addition to those planes, I came away with 5 stunt engines, 2 OS FP .35s, an Enya .35, and an OS FP40, all given to me by Ray Copeland... and a cool trophy and a Philly Flyers decal for my car window too!
Many thanks to all of you who had the patience to nurse me through my retarded learning curve. I really appreciate all the input from you guys.
