Kevin has got the definitive answer. I doubt that is it "compatible", and it almost certainly us not fuelproof.

But as an observation, while I was doing a lot of woodworking (to modify the Honda to carry Team Bay Area's airplanes), I noted the extremely familiar scent of Brodak dope in a spray can of furniture lacquer I got from Lowes. This might explain where the second, not-fuel-proof-at-all  batch of Brodak dope came from.

Kevin,
You can apply Krylon over dope but not the other way around. Krylon original is acrylic lacquer (except for the small Short Cuts paint which is acrylic enamel and not fuel proof), heavier than dope so do light coats. If might be fuel proof for low nitro but always do a test piece. It should be allowed to gas off a couple weeks before getting exposed to fuel.

There is also a lacquer - classic furniture lacquer - under the Krylon name. I assumed that this was what Larry was talking about.
