Tax time in Dallas
« on: February 18, 2014, 10:58:55 AM »
Every year since I retired I go to Dallas, actually Arlington TX to get taxes done.  This year the family let me take my plane as the DMAA was having a contest.  Managed to make one flight and take pictures.  Also had a lot of fun and getting to see people you only see once in a while.  Discovered I had a broken stab on the plane when  I  was cleaning it up.  No names as I am not too wippy remembering them.

What a happy surprise to have "Doc" show up at our Hap, Hap Happy, "NOT" Prez Day Contest! He brought with him warm breezes away from the sun and railroad tracks...close to the 70s both days. We got our flying in before the winds picked up.
We had a Racing demonstration/demolition derby to showcase the new Dallas Racing rules that allow the Magnum and ASP .15s in Sport Goodyear. The demolition should have been planned after the demonstration, that way there would be more planes left. But, those little motors do start beautifully, one "four flipper" to spoil the mix for the remainder of "one" and "two flippers".

Here's the photo sequence for "Doc's" much appreciated photographs: 1) Don Cranfill/Swee'Pea 2)OTS/Profile 3)Mike Scott/Jamison 4)Sheila Cranfill, tabulator extraordinaire 5)George Hamby (of Hamby Ham fame and Linda Bob
6)Don Hutchinson and Joe Bowman 7)Shawn, Dave Russom, Bill Lee, Mike Greb, DMAAers all 8) Don H, Don and Sheila Cranfill
