Line question...
« on: February 09, 2014, 06:20:42 AM »
I plan on ordering pre made lines from stunt hanger hobby for my twister today. I have decided on .015 x 60'. I see there is choice between 7 strand and 19 strand. What are the benefits/drawbacks of one over the other?

Thank you for your time and sorry about all the newbie questions,

Jim

The more strands the softer the line of the same diameter. Like single strand 12 ga wire and multi strand 12 ga wire. Get 1000 feet from MBS supply and make your own. It's cheaper.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

I have used both and I much prefer the 7 strand. The 19 are much more fragile  and don't last as long. Bill Rutherford

Get the 7 strand!! Much stronger and wont tangle as easily when cleaning. The line they use is the same as Tom Morris and is made the same as toms. Very good quality and last  along time.

As already stated get your line from MBS Model Supply and learn to make your own.

I ordered .015x62 7 strand lines, carbon pushrods, and a handle from stunt hanger hobbies last Tuesday. Arrived on my doorstep yesterday. Excellent turnaround time.
