I bought a Combat Streak at a model auction several years ago, and it had an old Fox 35 on it. The plane was worn out, and became too dangerous to fly, after the first outing with us. I removed the engine, and was about to scrub and polish all of the "nicotine" stains from it, when a friend told me it was gold plating , and a 1963 version of the Fox 35! So, I'm glad he stopped me from ruining the finish on the engine, and it still runs very well! He was certain to tell me that it wasn't real gold on the engine.
I have a couple of Silver Foxx engines, too, as Lew was a local celebrity. I was happy and fortunate to have known Lew!
