John,, looks like fun to me!! Take care and good luck getting that cutting off fixed,, Ray
Have you tried moving the tank? That is good looking helper you have there. Is she going to start flying? I have taught all my grand kids how to launch a plane. Then have them hold handle while I get the plane if I don't land close enough. That sweet little 8 year old is my daughter; that was either an accident my wife was fixin to kill me over[she was 41] or the Good Lord blessed us with! Now back to problem, does it quit when goig inverted or after its inverted. I had one the tank was set too high and would quit while going inverted or doing outside maneuvers. Even had another one in which the inverted would go rich and had to raise the tank. All adjustments with plane in upright positionl. Have fun and get that young lady flying. DOC Holliday
You mean by going crappy it's going rich or lean? If it's going rich while inverted that means the tank is above the engine in that position. Which means when the plane is upright you have to raise the tank. If it is going lean then go the other way. Now do I have you confused? DOC Holliday
Naw...I'm pretty sure it went rich....pretty quick it flooded and died. Okay, the tank is centerline with the engine, but I can raise it no problem....that means it'll be below centerline at inverted.
John,That is correct. If it goes rich inverted, you want the tank below the centerline inverted. That way it is harder to draw fuel and the result will be a leaner engine.while the airplane is inverted. Most engines seem to want the tank about 1/4" above C/L to even out the run upright and inverted.Steve
