Fall Fun Fly --- C/L is alive and kicking in the Mid-South !!!
« on: October 26, 2008, 08:28:55 PM »
Well today we had a little get together kind of like we did last year. A Fall Fun Fly.
I thought it would only be a small turn out but we had the largest gathering I had every seen. We had 24 pilots show up!!! Someone said they counted about 28 planes, and thought there were more. We had a pig fest, and I don’t think anyone left hungry.
We had three circles going most of the time, so there was not much quite time. I think everyone got on the handle of something. I got to see some faces I had not seen in awhile. This might turn into a yearly thing, I can only hope. We had someone show up from the local paper so we might get a little press for C/L. Here are a few photos from today. I will put a slide show together later this week. What a great day it was.
Control Line is alive and doing well in the Mid-South!

Man today was such a fun day!
I only wish that i didn't have to leave so early to drive back to college, but you gotta put school first ;).

That was some good food ;D, flying, and friends.
(notice food came first, haha)

I defiantly wanna make this an annual event.
Thanks everyone who could make it!

Looks like every one was having a blast.  Made me think of the early years with the Flying Eagles on any Sunday you could find at least a half dozen people flying.  Then there were times it got so you were lucky to get in one flight.  If this becomes an annual thing it will become another one of those things to put on the to do list.  DOC Holliday

I love these event reports. I only wish that there were captions on the photos - especially when one or two individuals are shown - or a specific airplane. I know many of the active pilot names but cannot put a face to them.

Watch this thread. I will put a slide show together and post on youtube later this week with a link in this thread.
I will try and put names with the faces. Problem is we had new folks show up this time and I did not get around to getting all the new names. They are not part of my email list.

Stay tuned.........

I agree with you, Paul.  I'd like to see "photo captions", too.  The forum software doesn't provide for attachment captions.  However, there is an "work-around" that works better than nothing.  I've been doing this for years.

Before you attach the photos to your post, make a second copy of each one with the "Save As" function.  Change the photo's file name (800123.jpg, for example) to Paul Taylors Stuka.jpg or Paul and Ryan Taylor.jpg.  The file naming convention will not allow large descriptions or much punctuation but it does give you limited picture identity.

Good point. Here are my same pictures with captions, if I did it correctly. I did the "save as" method.
