F-86 Semi-scale Stunter
« on: December 01, 2006, 04:30:44 PM »
You won't believe this.  this is a semi-scale control line stunt ship built by Roberto Mastorino of Castelar, Argontina.

He claims " It is not a great stunter - I am not a great pilot.  also - but is a beautiful model".  This is a full span flaps stunt; ship.

He teaches physics at the Universidad Techologica Nacional of Argentina, and wanted to compare notes with me about some ideas he has about control geommetry and tip weights.

I can't get the photo top attach.  I'll stick it on Stuka stunt when I get back from dinner.

Very neat looking plane, but what is he using for power?   There's no engine in the nose, and the nose appears to have a rag in it to keep some internal power plant clean....a fan jet, perhaps?  Doubt it...they take ages to get up enough air speed to fly.   hmmmm.....

Cheers.

I have no way of contacting him easily.  The photo and letter came snail mail.  That does look like a prop shaft sticking out of the nose.

Great looking F-86!

I have allways enjoyed that airplane and paint scheme. I used that paint job on my SV-25 Shrike. Its got a PA-40 on a pipe.

Mike,
Your Shrike is looookin good  #^. The ground at Ned Brown Woods doesn't look like that (green grass) now. The frozen tundra is buried under about 6 inches of ice and snow brrrrrrrrrrr.
