Hi Guys,
I am the one who asked Pat Hartness to include circles this year. I thought it would be good for aeromodelling in general and great for CL. I know I am not the first to be involved with Pat and this event for Derek had already put on demos. I was just the one who asked to make it a part of the event and agree to Pat's request for I oversee the effort and be willing to stay for the entire week and to bring him a special hybrid plane: an CL plane tethered on a pylon and controlled from outside the circle by radio control. That hybrid is on my workbunch nearly in the bones.
SInce November when Pat and I spoke and made the agreement, I have been "begging" manufacturers for supplied so we could offer the RC guys handle time with a bunch of trainers. I have been very fortunate and found some wonderful companies out there. As you do not know my name, I am looking for all the help I can get. First, I want to help make sure that everyone has a great time. Secondly, I am always looking for folks who may be able to help with circle #1. I thought that circle should have daily time set aside for beginners and flight demos. Derek and Allen have agreed to help along with others whose names you would immedaitely know. I am not the flyer many of you are and I am open for all suggestions. The two other circles will be for open flying every day.
I would love to hear from you. The circles will be availabe the entire week, May 12 - May 19. The way we (some of my input with the Nall volunteers execution) have designed the area, there will be room for strung out handles and lines as well as onsite parking and room for tents. For those of you who have not yet been to the Nall, the property is 10,000 feet from from entrane to rear boundary. Havng on site partking is huge. Someone asked if they could fly some combat demos. YES. THe more variety, the more interesting it will be for the RC community.
