Pic of original stunter for Stunt 25 event. Ringmaster style wing...probably a mistake. Next one will have a thicker airfoil and a slightly shorter nose. Brodak 25 for power.

Thanks...a quickie actually. Sig and Brodak dope, Ultracote on wings. May use that scheme on a full bodied plane sometime in the near future.

Hey Pete,  I like it as well as the paint scheme.   Maybe instead of shorter nose, maybe a longer tail?

No, the planes are almost unlimited. Profile, full fuse, flaps, or no flaps. Your choice. The limitations are mostly in the  (up to) .25 engine, 9" prop and 10% fuel.

Hi Dennis, flaps are permitted per the rules. Next one may have them. Object of this one was to get something to compete with in a short time so it was kept simple. Doc, the photo exagerates the length of the nose and shortness of the empannage. However, the Mark II version will incorporate your suggestion and some other changes. Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks for info.  Even tho I only build unspeakable power systems, I still wanted to build a Stunt-25 class bird (9" prop) - just for fun.  Heck maybe just a Black Tiger or a Feno - either of which should be pretty good fits for this class.

I'd go with the longer tail -- could you take a side-view pic so we can get a better idea of the true proportions?

Skyrays and Fright Streaks both have pretty thin wings compared to flapped birds, and fly pretty well -- are you sure the airfoil isn't right for non-flapped?

(Skyrays and Fright Streaks also have a bigger wing than a Ringmaster...)

A Mackey "Blue Bird" might also fill the bill. As far as moments, airfoils, etc. next one may be based on Pat Jonston's "Shark 402" numbers. Rumor has it that it is an excellent flying .25 sized stunter. This airfoil is barely thicker than a Ringmaster's and Surprise! it flies like one too. Skyrays and Fright Streaks have thicker wings and shorter noses-and fly better IMHO.

Hey Pete;

I sold my Shark 402 to Kim a couple years ago. It flew beautifully on the Brodak 25. I would not hesitate to use the airfoil and dimentions. It has a fixed flap and I'd do that too!

Thanks for the report Jerry. Weather should be good this weekend for the contest. Depending on how it goes the MkII version might get built sooner than later. I could get used to building planes that can be completed in about 3 weeks versus 6 months to a year for the average plans built full size/full bodied stunter.
