Raining again here in Shawnee. I see you must have gotten an early start. Are the other locals(Melvin, Brenda and Jim) there yet. Remember to have fun and post a lot of pictures.

Nobody yet Doc. Jim told me they were traveling tomorrow. Haven't seen Brenda or Melvin and their trailer of goodies is not here.

We burned about a half gallon of fuel but the weather is coming back in.. Raining lightly and radar is showing a glob heading in. Time for lunch I guess... Will get back out later.

We made it to Akron, Ohio where we're staying overnight. Hitting the road early in the morning and we should make it to the L-Pad by noon tomorrow!

The morning session went well but the density altitude went from about 26 to 34 in about an hour ( I'm told from a good source) and did lead to some strange engine runs and dead- feeling airplanes for a while. Most went for lunch when the air died.

Today was stunt heaven! My grandfather and I got here around noon, and I got 10 flights in by dinner time. Gene had me playing with nose weight and handle spacing, and I think it really helped. Hopefully tomorrow isn't gonna be a complete washout.

And we actually have a fridge in our room in the Days Inn!

I'm not seeing linkage to the 'boost tabs' on your flaps, is that (the linkage) now internal, and the control horns which are visible are vestigial?

Heading to morning practice and today may be a little more 'iffy' with the weather as pop up showers all day are on the menu. I expect most everyone else coming will show at the field by afternoon. Today is beginner I believe and though the grass area had dried out quite a bit, overnight showers will make that a wet sock morning.

I was fiddling with the linkage on one side and got CA in the hinge. I disconnected the tabs and taped them to the flaps. The airplane flew better. I've since had them connected and disconnected again. I suspect that they have more effect around neutral than they do at higher control deflections. I'll hook them up again if I can come up with a more clever linkage.
