I don't have to glue little things all over my wing to make my plane fly.

Are you sure ?

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” - Bruce Lee.

Yeah, VG's or not, things aren't going well. I probably won't make the trip that far east.

Too bad...:(

Paul, I know how intimidating this trash talking can be.  I think the way to get your self-confidence back is to add lots more vortex generators.

Hope this helps.

Give up two appearance points???? Sorry, I am entirely to vain about my planes.

The plane will already do a perfect pattern. How much more perfect can perfect get?  ;)

I truly hope that Paul is just messing with us and nothing is wrong. However, it will not change the outcome...

1. PA 65

2. PA 65

3-40. Who cares...

Man I almost forgot the second most important part of coming to Muncie. The Texas Roadhouse!!!

I still partly remember the night that John Grigsby, Steve M., and I shut that place down! Flying was interesting the next day to say the least.

Jeez guys....you are WAY ahead if me.  If I make it to Muncie I sure hope to make the top 10......Seeing that I don't have a PA 65, and my   l-a-m-e  electric motor is having issues with running at the same speed. Hope it gets worked out.

HOPE to see you at the Texas road kill!

I heard about that issue.  It's not the only one.  If you look carefully at the second picture, you can see the start of trouble from the stress concentration at the back of the canopy.  My guess is that it's gotten serious.

Boy I dont know,, I was in Deer Park for a Pylon race this weekend,, I heard some mysterious chuckling from across the airport, Not sure what that was all about  but it was certainly sinister,, almost like a predetor who is sneaking up on his prey,,
speaking of praying,, you all might want to start,,
Just sayin,,,
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

Yeah I am not buying it either, BRO!  The guy that takes a 4 engine plane, a scale one at that, to the WCs would bring a kite to the nats if that's all he had available.   ;D ;D

Man I almost forgot the second most important part of coming to Muncie. The Texas Roadhouse!!!

I still partly remember the night that John Grigsby, Steve M., and I shut that place down! Flying was interesting the next day to say the least.

Derek

Ahh the old Texas Road House Café. Jeff Anderson and I dined and dashed there in 2000.

It was my night to buy and I told Jeff to sit tight while I went to the truck to get some travelers checks.
As I was walking back in, Jeff was walking out through the crowded lobby. Jeff says, "Don't sweat it I got it tonight.
We get in the truck and Jeff holds up the bill and says" Drive fast dude, I didn't pay for $hit"

One of the many, many adventures of the 2000 Nats.

Like the toilet papering of Bob Dixon's truck. Jeff locking Bob Dixon in the crapper.
The fake two for one coupons for the Pizza King. (They actually worked). Jeff telling everyone at the Nats that mustard in your motor is a premium lubricant, because he believed the marvel oil that I used was dispensed out of a plastic Frenches Mustard bottle. Jeff was boozed up for the entire week and still finished third in advanced.
I made a very official looking sign that said "Parking reserved for the Buttafucco Stunt Team". Every where we went that week, when we parked the truck, we would pull the sign out  and place it in front of the truck.
It did raise a bit of a stink, when we waited for the parking spot closest to the lobby of the Signature Hotel to open up. I ran down stairs and moved the truck to that spot and put the sign out. We watched from our window as everyone who walked into the lobby stopped in their tracks when they saw the sign and wondered how the Buttafucco Stunt Team rated a prime parking spot in front of the lobby.

We were the first to the AMA site one morning and parked in the closest spot to the entrance, I put the sign in front of the truck and headed up to the L pad.
A couple of hours later I found the sign tapped to the door of one of the port-a-potties.
I didn't think that was very funny.

Hold your dark horses.

Will show them up too.

(A little disappointing, because I couldn't come up with a rhyme for pasture.)

Try as they might
A win for JCT
has never seen flight.

If Walker shows
and if the wind blows
it could be Hunt to be the best.

Or who knows
it could be the Moon
who flies over the coo-coo's nest.

What ever the outcome
I don't care
cause me and my dad will still be there.

Best of luck to all,

Steve

That was also the night of one of the greatest Nats quotes ever.

After a few hours of drinking, eating, and getting to know some of the locals at the Texas Roadhouse....

(really hot) Bartender- Where are you guys from?

Derek- Right outside of Augusta, Georgia. Home of the Masters Golf tournament. (you can imagine my southern accent for yourself)

Steve and John- Dallas Texas.

Bartender- Oh really that's cool. Do you guys have Texas Roadhouses in Texas?

Steve- (without a second of hesitation) No, we have Indiana Roadhouses....

Bartender- Bewildered look followed by a burst of laughter.

Bartender- Really???

Derek, Steve, and John- rolling laughter followed by more drinks.

What a great night. I don't think she charged us for any of the drinks, just the food.

YES YES!!!  That's all you need.  Dont bother with the plane its too much trouble.  Just bring the kite, Bro, and you are golden!

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Please just bring the kite!!  Seriously, the plane,,,,not needed this time.

When the winds blow
The kite will fly
But in the show
The scores for Riff Raff will be quite high

After getting our a$$es kicked last year I thought we agreed on less poems and more practice. I see that you did not follow your own advice.

You can't let 105 degrees bother you. Besides, it doesn't bother the kite. Don't tell anyone, but I'm not the BOM of that kite. Found it in a kite shop in Pacific Beach Wa in May.

I would rather fly in 105 here than 90 over your way. It did get a little ugly here Monday as it was 95 and 70% humidity. The density ratio was 85% and felt just like Muncie.  Good practice for that kite. I do have problems with the wingover and overhead eights though. I'll keep working at it.

You should come down to the sod farm some time in June. 100 degrees and 95% humidity. That is till the afternoon thunderstorm, then it goes up to 100% humidity.

It also hits 100% at the sod farm when the sprinklers come on... or at least the dew point spikes a fair bit.
I bet that little duckling still hasn't come back after your assault Derek.  :##

Assaulting ducklings
Might make a good show,
At the Nats you best have
Your ducks in a row.

Edited for meter, although it still doesn't make much sense.

The difference here is altitude. While your conditions are not friendly to you, my conditions are not friendly to the plane. Your relative density is nearly 91% where mine is about 85%.  That's a big difference!
