« on: June 19, 2007, 04:48:56 PM »
I put enya 40 ZX in my nobler to replace my Saito 4 stroke. ! st observations. Very good running engine. Stays set where you set needle. Lots of power and plenty of good milage(71/2 t0 8 min. on 41/2 oz tank and nice break and great 4 cycle to this engine with plenty of power. I rae it at about a 91/2. My nolber is a little overwight but this engine pulls this plane around very well. I definatly would buy another one. :)! :)! (PE**)

  Hi Leo,
Can't say I'm too surprised as it is an enya afterall. Would probably last forever too.

I was looking into an St .51 for a future project but am seriously swaying towards one of the new enya's now.

 Cheers, Rob.

Here is the website for the Enya engines. They  are now selling direct but I bought mine from Alberto Parra and it was great to do business with him.

The new .61CSX is 330 grams with out muffler.  That seems pretty light for a .61 doesn't it?

I missed the prices somehow.

Hi Bill,
go to the catalog link and not the cl link./  Then click on shopping.

They give you the price in Japanese yen and a multiplier to translate the price into US dollars.  I ran the numbers in my calculator and I came up with $165.22 appx.
( my calculator did not have enough decimal places to enter the whole formula number so I said appx) Anyway, that sounds like a very good price.
Maybe , someone could find out from Kaz or someone how they run, say compared to an ST 60.

Thanks. Pat.  It has a good HP rating (how ever reliable they are) of 1.7.  Interesting in that it is lighter than the "older" Enya 60 by a good bit.  330 grams is around 11 1/2 oz. (330 grams) without muffler (just a guess on the "oz". weight).

330 grams is right in there for a vintage 60 CL.  The only really light one was the ST60, which came in about an ounce lighter.  An old Enya 60 model 7032 weighs 340 gr. bare, about 355 with venturi and needle valve.  I suspect the ST51, which weighs 305 gr. bare, would give any of the baffle piston 60's a good run for the money.

Hi Phil,

When the ST G51 first came out, Windy did a lot of testing on them.  They do produce their power at slightly higher rpm, but seemed to pull a standard 60 size plane of Windy's much the same as the older ST 60.  Different power delivery, but good for all but the obese planes.  I know the first one I used was in a 64 oz. SV-11 and it had no troubles in any conditions.  Schneurle ported engines sure do make a lot more power per C.I.!
