Any idea if these are good for stunt use with a venturi or wiring open the carb? The amount of new CL engine suppliers is really drying up.....
I don't know, but they're heavy, and timed to make tons more power than a 46LA -- which is already capable of flying a 4-pound plane nicely (I have such a combination, which works great to my continuing astonishment).
If you want to experiment -- go ahead. You may want to try the 32 as well. Use a flatter prop than most use now, run a higher RPM, and (possibly) an smaller venturi than you'd use on an LA (but maybe not -- Brett Buck says that for similar sized airplanes you always seem to end up with similar sized venturis, no matter the engine displacement. He seems to be always right, so he's not someone to ignore).
It'd be interesting to know how the current-production Magnum and ST engines work, too.
And -- there are current-production engines made specifically for stunt, they're just not in the Tower catalog for easy one-stop ordering along with a new quadcopter. Check with Randy Smith and/or Dub Jett, or find the Stalker web page, or the contact information for Kaz Minoto (sp?).
