Just perfect for a stunt run, AFAIK.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

while this is most decidedly true Tim,,
you should take care ,, soon you will be lumped into the same basket with me ( that being smart a$$) ,,
then next thing you know they will lump all us NW guys into that basket,,
and while its likely true to a great extent,, i would rather make them meet us to figure it out ( see attendance at the regionals jump until the figure out who we really are)

All that said,, I am a bit perplexed by this question,, if you are running an LA 46, take the head off and measure it?
if you are not running one, uh,, ??
I guess perhaps if you have one that you suspect has been modified this might be relevant ,,

I am not home, and like Tim, I have no undying need to pull the head off one of mine so sorry,, I cant help,,
but I thought Tim's comment warranted a witty reply,, sorry to clutter upyour thread,,

Well, the reason for the question is the fact that all of the la 46 engines that I have the shims have been changed and I don't have any way of knowing what the stock one was.

But I say thank you Joe, I 'ppreciate the answer...

Begs the question as to why the shims were changed, and indeed what else was done along with it?

But the answer (minus the painfully circuitousness route) is 0.3mm.

Sorry for the smart-ass answer, then.  I thought you were fixin' to murder an engine or two.

If they're shimmed and you don't know their provenance then Chris has a good point -- you may want to inspect them for timing mods, or inquire of former owners.

Yes, we all know that you're totally incapable of being a smart-ass unless someone prods you.

Unfortunately, that does not seem to be correct. I just measured two of mine, brand new out of the box, and they are 0.4mm/0.016". That's enough different from 0.013 as asserted in the link that it will probably make a small difference in the way it runs, but it's probably not critical.

Wonder if all the deck heights are going to be within that production tolerance Brett?

 One would certainly hope so!
