After run oil
« on: March 04, 2007, 05:16:41 PM »
How much is enough?  I'm sure I'm using too much, makes engines very hard to start.  I'm talking 19 to 45 size if it makes much difference.  Thanks for the advice.

I use Rislone on both glow and diesel engines and have not noticed any problems.  Unless the engine is not going to be used for a long time I just put a few drops in the intake and a drop on the piston (if no muffler) and flip it a few times.  I'm running fuel with some castor and don't always use the Rislone after flying.  No problems.

I use several drops (??) down the venturi.  Almost like a prime, when I'm not going to be using the engine for a long time.  During the flying season I don't hardly use it.  I use Aero 1 oil in my fuel, about 1 oz. per gallon (??) and the engines stay very clean through out a season internally.  Of course, I don't use any "all synthetic oil fuel" if that makes a difference, only 1/2 Castor, 1/2 synth. or all castor. (??)

My "storage oil is a (roughly) 1/2 and 1/2 mix of air tool oil and Riselone.  No ball bearing problems after up to 10 years of using this to store engines.

Hey, Jim!  I got the "warning" that you had posted while I was typing,  We say basically the EXACT same things!  so I'm not gonna change! LOL!!
