Aerotiger .36 YouTube video
« on: October 05, 2012, 09:33:13 PM »
There have been few youtube videos on stunt engines and none on Aeroproducts engines.  I was hoping to redo this flight recording, however, the time is running out on this season (it's freezing tonight), so I'm posting the first video recording of my Aerotiger .36 powered Tucker Special.  I setup the engine a bit different from the recommendations (info is on the youtube posting), and it seems to be working pretty well........I'm happy anyway.  I certainly like the run better than the Magnum .36 I used at the NATS.  Hope you like.

Randy,

The videos were not posted by engine, so I did not ID them.  BTW, the first video you mentioned (Kaz Minato), is one of my video postings from the 2012 NATS.  I did not know he was using a PA 75 or I would have included that info in the video.

Thanks for the video, its good to view other flyers setup,I remember
reading years ago about the Aerotiger being used at the VSC,a flyer was competing
against other top flyers and he asked why their Aerotigers ran better,I think
the answer was to restrict the exhaust (block off some holes) but I'am not sure.
But that was about the only reference I can remember reading.
I have an Aerotiger and found that a Brodak 11x4 smooth finish prop was the
best in a 47oz Vector, fuel as per, setup sheet supplied. It was good but you would get
one out of 6 flights where it would run a little hard.I ended up fitting an extra 0.006" head shim
and that tamed it and found that a Tornado 10 x 4 , 3 blade prop worked.
I think you need the blade area to load the motor a bit.

Hi Paul

There have been AT36s all over VSC  for many years,, I think the AT36 powered ships have won about 10 to 12 of the Titles. The plugging up the engine mufflers, do not help the AT36 run better, unless that is the setup that fits, one famous flyer that did stop his up had a venturie that was 6 steps more open than stock, You need to remember both the intake and exhaust affect each other, in general if you have a more open exhaust it make the intake act larger, if you close dowm the exhaust, the intake acts smaller, and vise/versa

I watched this part of this video countless times.
Seeing the flight from the inside to me was incredible.
I wish there were more of these
