Looks cool Randy, just poking some fun there. For some reason Beemer was the first thing that came to mind when I saw your cowl treatment. Neat idea, and something different. y1

Wayne,

As with most of the plane, it's a Ted Fancher takeoff. Sort of a tribute to my personal stunt hero. I just hope it flies for spit.

So, the canopy is done (more or less) and one elevator is on. Just need to hinge the other three control surfaces and build the landing gear and it's off to finish.

Thanks, Mark. I think I can start finishing this weekend. If I get it done, it will probably be gassing off without a single flight on it on the way to Roseburg. Sigh.....

Wayne,

Uh, no. I'll keep all I have ... until it's gone then it will be time to think about other options. Found a source for very light silk. Might try that or cave in and use Polyspan.

Haven't worked on it for a couple of days. Home repair projects have intruded. And it's off to the Regionals tomorrow so, nothing for a bit.

Sigh.....

So, my car broke (currently in the shop) and so, no trip to Roseburg. So, more home repairs and the plane got fillets and is awaiting me spraying a coat of filler. The it's zen sanding time.

Hopefully, this toad will fly. The previous beast has some sort of issue that I just can't figure out. So, it went in the rack while I cogitate on it. In the mean time, I'm fixing up a previous unit that flies really well to be my primary weapon until this bad boy is ready for the stunt wars.

Sure, Wayne. It could really use another coat of primer, but that would be more weight. I already have a problem on the bottom where I sanded through the paper in multiple spots and had to patch. It will be presentable in the end.

Weird you can't see the masks under the white. Needs to dry for a bit then I'll pull the masks and start taping for the rest of the trim.

OK, I hate painting. Tried to tape the trim colors. Decided I didn't like it and when I pulled up the tape, up came the white. So, that's fixed but I think I'll need to shoot some clear on to lock the damn white down. Joy.

Yea, I shot a thin coat with some 60/40 (thinner to dope) clear and that seems to have taken care of it.

Wayne,

Yea, I did this one where all colors were masked first. Then, cover up areas and shoot a color (blue went on last night), then unmask, move and shoot the next color. Should have all the colors on in a day or so. Then I'll post a picture. Unless you want to see the thing all masked up with color shot all over.

Well, third color (plus base white) is on. Tomorrow the tape comes off and we will see what we see. I foresee some touch up as the white really isn't liking sticking to the silver. Hope it doesn't take too much.

Wayne,

Yea, I did this one where all colors were masked first.

I'm always paranoid about leaving the tape on too long, I dunno, maybe I don't need to be. I try to work out a time allotment where I can tape as quickly as possible, spray a color and then unmask right away, all in one session. Hope your plan works out Randy.
