new lost wing use
« on: April 28, 2010, 06:15:05 PM »
New way to use the lost foam wing system.
I have been working with Bob Hunt on wing molds for my composite airplanes Impact,SV-22,Saturn,PM and my current Impact Master.
The following photos depict the use of composite 1/4 wing panels and the lost foam system. Bob Hunt cut, sheeted and carved the wingtip for the foam 1/2 panel. I then finished the wing and created the female molds that were used for the Impact Master wing.
1/4 panel= 1/32" molded balsa,2.4 oz carbon fiber cloth, .2 carbon fiber mat,and .5 glass cloth.
Photo #1 = 1/4 moldes wing panel with tip in the Lost Foam Wing jig
photo#2= ribs and spar
photo #3= completed 1/2 wing panel
