Building Stall
« on: August 28, 2007, 10:22:22 PM »
Well, my new plane is sorta on hold. I had a little touch and go at the contest last weekend with my current PA plane. Hit some wake turbulence in the last outside loop and sorta clipped the prop. I made the obvious error and hit down pretty hard and just sanded the rudder on the pavement. Also picked up a nick in the canopy, no doubt from flying prop pieces. Sigh...

Anyway, no real damage, but I am now refinishing the rudder and as long as I'm at it, I'll take care of some other hanger rash and such that has accumulated. That will probably take a week.

Then my buddy that is hauling my plane to VSC for me just told me that he's leaving the first of November. The plane needs some work and a refinish, so I'll probably get to that too. The new plane is pretty much framed up. I finished up the gear tonight and will probably do the wheelpants and such before the weekend. It also needs a tank. Then it will go in the rack while some other little projects get completed. To top it off, my buddy Pat Johnston gave me his old profile last weekend in an effort to get me to fly profile stunt. I'll need to get it refurbished and an engine running on it, hmmm, and some lines made up so I can get some time on it.

So many little projects and a limited amount of time.

Ty,

No, I have a "stall" to build in.  :)

Just seems I have like 4 projects that really need to be completed now

It will all get done, but it's choosing what to when that drives me nuts. Truth is, the new plane can wait. It probably won't see action until next season anyway. The other stuff has to take precedence. Sigh...

But, the world won't end if none of it gets done, I suppose.

Storage becomes a problem.  Once I retire, I suspect I will start to donate planes to worthy beginners........ ;D

As of yet storage isnt a problem for me, broken wings and fuses dont tend to be picky about how they are stacked HB~> buy I am sure some day soon I wont have to worry as much about that and then I may become concerned about storage.
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

Yes, Mark, you will soon be of less probability of dorking them, and then they *multiply* like *little* bunny rabbits!  LL~  :##  y1

I tend to give away stuff that isn't going to get flying time. I gave Mark a plane awhile back and will probably soon salvage a hanger queen that is sitting in the corner. Too bad it didn't fly better. Sure is pretty. I also have a couple of planes that are Pat Johnston cast offs.

Hey Mark. You have a Saito 56 don't you? I could bring you Pat's original 60 sized P-40 that is built for a Saito.   VD~

Saito 56, oh yeah, I have a nice one,, Daves It is looking for a home, either in the Freelancer (unless I use my ST 56 there) and there is still a corner in the living room that may be big enough to hang a 60 sized plane,,, hehe ,,,
Hey Linda hows about moving the kids pictures from that wall,,,,,,,,, S?P
