O&R 23 engine

reguards to the O&R 23.  Is there any difference in engine preformance between the front or rear intake and glow and ignition.

Lots of difference...   The rear intake will be the sideport type with limited timing possibilities.  Very restricted on rpm and power.  The front rotor will be more powerful in this situation. 
Gas will give economy and the glow will give more power till the jug blows off....  The top is held on with a spot weld and are notorious for departing under stressful situations..
