A very sad day for Control Line
« on: March 02, 2007, 01:39:09 PM »
I just received an email informing me that Bill Wisnewski had passed away. We lost one of the greatest Engine men in the world today.

That is very sad, indeed.  A name I have heard for as long as I can remember.

My thoughts and prayers for the family and friends.

I first met Bill in 1958, when I started flying speed seriously, spent 2 Calif. nats camped in his back yard. He would tell and show you anything about his engines, planes, fuel etc, and still go out an beat you at the contest. I'll always remember my first and last glass of his homemade potatoe beer, made you want to go hi de ho. He was very gracious to all, I'll miss him.

I'm very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was always helpful, even to people that didn't really know what they were doing (like me). He was especially helpful to children, he and his late wife were always giving.
So long, Bill.
Chris...
