To all the USA F2A Competitors:

The 2010 F2A Team Selection Finals have been awarded to Mr. Al Kelly (NASS). The Site will be the Muncie AMA Speed Circles. It will be held the weekend after the AMA Control Line Speed Nationals. The Dates are July 11th and 12th. For more information please contact Mr. Kelly or the AMA Competition Department. Mr. Kelly was the only bid.

Please remember, the AMA BLUE BOOK that contains the procedures for the USA World Championship Teams no states that the Entry Fees for the Team Selection Final need to be received by AMA one month before the Finals contest. This is the 1st year that this requirement will be made for the F2A Team.  As the document spells out, to remain supported and funded, there are to ways that we can obtain the required number of points, they are Performance-based, and Participantion-based.  At the last two world championships, the F2A team did not earn any Performance-based Points. So, we have to attempt to maintain our Funding and Support using Participation-based points.
To maintain full AMA Funding and Support, the F2A Team only has 25 Participation Points. There awarded to our program at the 2008 Team Selection Finals due to our 15 entries. A Program needs 50 Points from either the Performance-based or Participation-based criteria to maintain full AMA Funding and Support. IF we can increase our F2A Finals Competitors to 20 flyer's we will receive 50 Participation Points and restore the F2A Teams Funding and Support. That is an increase of only 5 entries over the 2008 Team Selection Finals.

As of right now, the 2010 USA F2A Team will be funded at only 50% by the AMA. That is for the Entry Fee, Lodging, and Food. As well as the Travel funding. So, this may be a very expensive World Championships.

So, if you are planning to attend the AMA Nationals and fly F2A Speed. Why not tryout for the F2A Team. Your Pre-Entry fee of $50.00 will do a lot more than just pay your entry in to the contest. It will help maintain the AMA Funding and Support of the USA F2A Team in the future.

If we do not fly the event, is there another way of giving support to the team?  I remember way way way back when I tried F2C, we sold patches.  DOC Holliday

Just to bump this up.  I have confirmation for my ticket for the engine that is being raffled off at the head of this portion of the forum.  He says there is only 100 tickets available and last time I looked 48 are gone.  Lets support the team even if we don't fly the event.  DOC Holliday

I did my entry today with Colleen Pierce at the AMA over the phone. They take Visa or Master Card. Simple, and quick.
