Tri-Pacer documentation wanted
« on: March 24, 2008, 10:02:16 AM »
I'm having trouble finding the documentation I want for a Piper Tri-Pacer.  Bob Banka has several, but they either have no instruments and interior, or instruments with no interior.  I would really like to find a full scale "Tripe" in the northwest Ohio or southern Michigan area that I could do the photo shoot on myself but if anyone knows of or has documentation on hand they are willing to part with for a sum I'll settle for that.
I want interior, instruments, outer details, such as the rib stitching or metal rib strips, whichever it has,  and other details as well as front, side, top, and all the other good stuff suitable for FAI competition.
I located the one I used to own that I got my tickets in, but the guy's had a year to answer and hasn't so I guess that one is out.
Thanks in advance!
Will

Will,
Google AIRCRAFT SEARCH. The first thing on the page is the FAA search page. Go from there. Good luck.

Actually, that's the page I used to find my old Tri-Pacer, 8621D, which is still with the dentist I sold it to out in Idaho.  There doesn't seem to be any real close by to me, but I'll keep lookin'!
Blessings,
Will

Thanks Mike!  Although I still have my owners manual from my old Tripe, this is a great pointer for others to see.  The factory manual is a huge help in properly documenting for scale.  I may be tracking down my old plane after all, the family is talking about an Idaho vacation and if that comes about, guess who will try to steer them where!
I went to the ebay page and  found a lot of other manuals they have available as well, so Mike has found a treasure cove of posible documentation help here!  Lots of Cessna manuals, Pitts, and so on.  Give it a look if you are planning a new ship!

Here is an interesting Tri-Pacer story. Be sure to click on the second picture.

I thought I would update this plea - I now have some wonderful documentation for the "Tripe" that came from Mark Lanterman of Airborne Media.  He took the pictures at Oshkosh last summer and they are great.
I heartily recommend his products for documentation.
Blessings,
Will

Mark,
That would be absolutely wonderful.  The address is in Caldwell, iIdaho, and the owner is Steven Graham.  His address is 1719 E. Spruce St.
The N number is N8621D and it was blue and white when we sold it in 1972 or '73.  The FAA page says it's current, with the last certificate issued on 10/05/2000
I will owe you the best steak dinner you can find if this pans out.  Here's a picture of the bird.
Blessings,
Will
