T & D Sport Scale Winner.
« on: June 18, 2007, 10:46:23 AM »
Len Bourel won Sport Scale with his 25-year-old (putting it mildly) Sterling Fokker D VII.  Fox 35 Stunt (what else?) power.

Lenny can still do the reclining overhead eight in lieu to throttle options.

Gorden Gimbert (Sr) won profile Scale with his twin LA 25-powered Third Reich bomber.  Gordy was battling impending heat stroke all weekend.  His entry was proxy-flown by (3rd place) Chris Brownhill.   Chris' LA-15 powered Hampton is shown.

The T&D is the weekend before the "Big B" and Monday works great as a travel day, only 340 miles NNE of Carmichaels.

WHo knows how many thousands of Ringmasters have been built, however, I'll bet there were a LOT of the Sterling CL Scale line-up built too - the D7, Nieuport, Mulligan, Ryan, Pete, Waco, PT19; not to mention the Sterling RC kit conversions....!
