Congratulations to Steve Couch.

Flying in his first NATS Steve took on the best and prevailed.  His SE-5a is a museum quality model.  And a 1800.5 static score gives you and idea of the quality of Steve's modeling.   His flying was almost as good, 1678 first flight score and 1578 second flight score, for a two flight average of 1628.

I have attached a picture of Steve and his SE-5a plus some closeups for detail.

Beautiful ship.

What is the status of the Jr. Scale Team?

I corrected the static score in the original posting.  I had typed it wrong, 1088.5 in stead of 1800.5 which is only 199.5 points from a perfect score.  The model can only be described as WOW.

Even the bomb rack and bombs are exact duplication of the factory drawings.  It is interesting to watch Steve drop the bombs sequencially in a "bombing run on the trenches".

Again congratulations Steve.

Congradulations on your win Steve.  Just goes to show that hard work and practice pays off.  Wonder how many years he spent on that plane.  When Bob Simmons from western Kansas was flying scale as well as Jeff Perez they stated that they were never finished with their scale planes.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

Hi guys. Thanks for the compliments. I would have responded sooner, but I had some technical problems loging on.
The reason for no Lewis gun is simple. I haven't finished the plane yet. You may also notice no dummy engine and exhaust. Anyway, she's on the bench getting the finishing touches for the FAI contest in September.I'll post some pics when it's done. Thanks again.
Steve
