Static at The Brodak
«
on:

Thursday afternoon was static judging for all four events.
Brodak's garage is the refuse of choice to keep the models out of the sun and intermittent rain. This far we've only had a few minor sprinkles during the day, but no rain delays. Every night there are heavy rains, but thus far none during flying hours.
Of course the scores are TS until the first round of flights are done today.

Judges, Jack Sheeks, John Brodak, Pete Klepic, and others are in the shade. Models in the sun. Brodak even provided a pair of localm girls to model the models for those busy flying stunt.

COOL!
A Pond Racer, Mitchell, B-17, Mosquito, Staggerwing, Bell X-1, it goes on and on! All sizes, too. This shows the creativity that C/L people have- couldn't be an ARF in there, could there?
I'm guessing TS means "Top Secret", not "Tough Stuff".

I will build it. It's gonna be really difficult to find me with an ARF. I know every bit of my airplane!

As soon as I recover and get the pictures down loaded, will post what I have. Tried to get all the planes that were in the pit area.

I flew a lot and pitted a lot. Didn't take too many pitchers. There were a couple of full time photographers on site. Scale at The Brodak was
waaaay
up. Most of 'em flew, too. There were intermittal showers, but only one real rain delay on Friday afternoon. Still. the rain kept the cameras under cover.
My annual pre-packing shot.

Paul
I count 7 models in that picture!
Do you use a Semi-truck or just a large Motor Home to transport 7 planes plus all of that support equipment?? I do not see a suitcase for a change of clothes.

I took 22 models in a Chevrolet Astro Van. There were five racers, one scale job, and a Flying Fool that I didn't use. Due to my advanced age I abstained from stunt this year.
