What is F4B Scale?  I am new to all this.

Fai has a different flight schedule--and a different style of static judging. But there will not be any static judging at Huntersville--just flying to the FAI rules.

I think that the contest is more of a flight schedule practice, there is no static scoring, and there is no builder of the model (BOM) rule, so it sounds low key, fly what you brought.

More than likely the CD will be more than happy to see another competitor show up and fly. Call him and see for sure.

Download the FAI rules off of the AMA site and see the differences between FAI and AMA, and then you will have a notion of what the flying rules will be before you get there.

Here all this time I thought the elevators were supposed to be controlled by the pilot using a handle, lines and bellcrank.  Servos can be used for throttle and any other function of the aircraft.  DOC Holliday

All true,  However on my Extra 300S the pilot, using a handle, two lines and a bellcrank controls a servo driver via a link between the bellcrank and a pot.  The servo driver then controls the servos that operate the elivator and alerons (rigged as flaps).  The advantage is two fold. First of all this is a big airplane and it makes it easy to remove the wing.  I haul this beast in a standard size 4-door sedan.  And second of all it requires very little line tension to maintain controll. So when things go badly and lines go slack I may still have controll.

Any way, is it goffey? - yes. Does it work? - YES !!!!

It has been pointed out to me that you are very legal as long as you are using pulses down the lines and no radio signals.  What happened to the simple days?  DOC Holliday
