I went to Carmichaels with 16 airplanes to enter 13 events. I ended up using 11 planes to fly the 13 events, loaned out 3 planes and didn't use 2. Didn't wreck any. I also left the camera in the car didn't take on single picture at the contest. SO I took a few while I was unpacking.
As with carrier, I don't have full report, mostly just my own stuff when from when I got home.
FUN Scale.
First, Tim LaNore, PT-19, 110 points (99.25)
Second, George Marenka, B-17, 110 points (99.00)
Fourth, Ed Mason, 96.50
I got 99.5 with my little SPAD XIII for third place. I forgot a stunt on my second attempt, but would still have been in third by a closer margin. The marks for both static and flying were generous to put it mildly.
This was a zero-investment operation until the day before this year's event. The plane was won a contest in Chicago, circa 1983, the engine was surplus, as was the covering. I wrecked the lines flying carrier the day before and had to spend $17.95 for some new ones.
