looking for a little help

Does anyone have or knows where I can find quality detailed scale drawings for the Martin Mauler?? I would like to accurately build and detail one. I've been on that " web search" found some very good walk around type photos but no quality detailed scale drawings.  I've down loaded here what I've been able to find. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

My guess is there's an R/C kit someplace? Accurate or not, you never know?

I purchase plastic kits. 1/32 would be a good start. You do have to research and see who offers the most accurate one.

With the 1/32 kit you could use it to draw your own plans.

I purchased a 1/48 plastic kit of a Mig-3. Small model, I couldn't see a thing, so I gave it to my neighbor's son.  n~

Plans. Again, are they accurate?

I would suggest contacting Keith Trostle, he knows the name of the person who offers documentation packages with three views and detail pictures.  I cannot think of the name, sorry.

Wikipedia has an article on it.

There's one on display at the Naval museum in PepsiCola.

A short-lived failure superceded by the GREAT Skyraider. But a favorite subject for Navy Carrier event in the old unlimited days.

For the Mauler, they have at least one 3-view drawing listed.  It may be similar to one that you already have, or it could be better.  It should be worth looking at.

If you can get your hands on a copy, the August 1948 Model Airplane News has a decent 3 view and article. When I wrote the carrier newsletter, Mike Potter (user name Skyshark58) submitted it for inclusion. Perhaps you could contact him.

Steve Ginter's Naval Fighters Number Twenty Four Martin AM-1/1-Q Mauler covers the plane in great detail. It's available from Amazon or maybe eBay. The drawings you posted are in this book. You will most likely have to use photos as reference for the surface detail.

A good Mauler article was published in Airpower, July 1974 and again in Wings, December 1981. There are lots of pictures. These along with the 1948 MAN are maybe available on eBay.

Claude McCullough built an R/C Mauler in 1959 that was published in a special book put out by R/C Modeler Magazine. It is titled The Challenge of Radio Control Scale. McCullough referenced the August 1948 MAN 3-View in the article.
