building a scale dash

how can i make a scale type dash for my p-51 semi scale and make it look good?

On my 109, I found a picture online of the instrement panel face on. I scaled it to the right size, printed it on glossy photo paper, cut it out and glued it to a peice of 1/16 balsa, then framed the cowl around it.
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!
