Anybody have pics or drawings of the 1st P-51D Bob Hoover flew for Rockwell.

Yellow with Black / Red stripes, minimal graphics, Reg # N-2251D.  Need top / bottom wing views to complete a scale CL model I picked up somewhere - thanks in advance.

I built a Blue Pants as a kid. Wish I still had it. Might even learn to fly it.

Thats the one I'm looking for, can't seem to find a shot showing the wing surface. The one I have was started / almost completed by an older gentleman over on the Space Coast, he sold it to me along with a couple other planes he was nevr going to fly / finish.
He said he had some pics he went by when, and the thin stripes above / below the main black stripe are red- the pic with the tarp over the damage sure looks like all black lines, so I don't know for sure.

I reckon I'll get the N2251D and small North American Rockwell emblems + the scropt "R.A. Bob Hoover" graphics made and just wing it. It will probably end up hanging in the office / Spare room anyway- it's already pretty heavy.

Thanks for the help- I'll have to post a pic when I get a chance.

I don't know if it ever had red stripes. Here is a link to a picture of it at the Sky Ranch site of the 1964 or 1965 Reno Air Races. In 1966 it was moved to Reno Stead.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it never had any red on it.

I believe I have the lettering for that, including the tail logo.

I'll check and see if I can dig them up?
