Dan -
Yes, this is a Dixon engine.  See the attached photo of the box.  Tom didn't mark his engines, just like the Dixon Merco that I have listed here.

Best regards,

Harold

I can almost guarantee that Sparky has tried it, and in his words, "if it's 'green' it's crap!" It may be good for cleaning a few things, but don't use in your finish.

I was at a local Home Depot last week and walking through the paint department, I noticed in their Kleen Strip display that had the usual selection, but there was a new one labeled "Green Lacquer Thinner." It was a buck more a gallon and just a quick look at the back of the can said it  was a "medium lacquer thinner" which I take to mean speed in drying time. I didn't have time to really compare with the regular stuff but if it's a slower acting thinner that means it might help in higher humidity levels, as long as the other properties of it match the regular stuff? I really don't have any need for it right now, but thought I would check it out and see if anyone else has seen it and tried it? They only had one gallon of it but if they would have had it in quarts I might have picked up one just to play with.
   Type at you later,

Question for you Harold. Does Dixon mark his engines in any certain way to identify it as one of his? I have a Royal .45 that looks exactly like your pictures, just not sure where I got it from. When  get back home I want to look at it a bit closer. I don't remember seeing anything obvious on mine. Just trying to decide if I want to keep it or move it along.
  Thanks in advance!

Prop buzzing?  I am curious which of the many strange sounds coming out the front of an electric you mean.

       Brett
I thought this was IC but I have noticed a lot of very strange, what I assume are prop tip noises that are not drowned out by the motor like they are in IC.  You can almost fly some maneuvers by sound.  Twins add another pleasant sound when they harmonize!  Would love to hear a quartet someday.

I wonder if the plywood or sandpaper washers would work on Electric.  Don't see why they wouldn't.

Jim thanks !   Actually I'm doing well to charge the phone.   I hate when Apple does 'updates'.   A year ago on this same photo I'd get a drop down that would ask me what size I wanted when sending picture.  That was so easy.   Then on their next update that feature went away or at least it was moved where I can't find it.  The problem is in part because the camera on the phones has gotten so good the pixel count is way too high to get photos to a certain size.   Your suggestion is a good one.   Maybe I'll look into it.  More passwords and verifying codes are why my blood pressure is high sometimes.  Trying to get into certain website things will raise my anger level faster than most things in this life.....

A 1/64” plywood disc behind the prop can shush some cases of prop buzzing. I got this advice from Matt Piatkowski via Paul Walker. It works.

Mr. Dave,
I use PixResizer on my cellphone. It helps to have a file manager to.make keeping track of the original file and reduced file easier.

Reize to pixels, or re-size to file size. I clip them to 1 MB for instant attachment here.
