nclra bylaws
« on: August 05, 2012, 05:13:00 PM »
Are the newly elected leaders of the NCLRA working on revising the bylaws to address the causes, leading to the
decline in the membership of the organisation ?

I would prefer to hear from those new leaders just installed, and if they are actively seeking (not just waiting for) comments from NCLRA members, and former members concerning said bylaws.  Building the membership base is part of the job they have accepted, and emailing all former and current members for their thoughts on this subject, from old and new membership list's, is imperative if NCLRA is to remain a viable group. Gentelman waiting untill you form the bylaws now, and then asking for oppions could cause long delays, while obtaining those before hand, then presenting the new bylaws for a vote will save time. The needs of the greater are more important then the needs of the least.

I respect the current officers of the NCLRA, and I am confident they will do their job with due diligence.

Matthew, I would be interested in what you think the "causes, leading to the decline in the membership of the organisation" actually are.

Dear Sir;

As I said in my post, I would prefere to hear from the proper NCLRA officers concerning this, as I am just one (of the least), and will reply to the proper officers by personal email if required by them, and no one else.

The reason for my post was to state an important concept to obtain a concensus of opinion from those who are the bases for the NCLRA, whether former or present members, and that all of them should expect a request from the official NCLRA leadership for their concerns, thereby showing due regard and respect for those who they are, and may represent and lead.

As I am (of the least) so are you Mr Lee.  With all respect Sir, please ask them if they require your comments, as I am certain that you would appreciate that, just as the rest of us would our concerns.

EDITED RESPONSE:

Matthew, I apologize for my previous response, it was not my intent to make this thread into a p*$$ing contest. Since I was somewhat ashamed at what I said, I have deleted it and replaced it with this one.

Back to your original post: you mentioned a decrease in membership. Since you were once a member of NCLRA, but  have not been for the past 2-3 years, you fall into the category of people that has lead to the decrease. I simply wanted to know why. And if you are not interested in exposing this on the forum, I would be happy to talk off-line: my e-dress is Bill@WRLee.com

Regards,

Bill Lee

I know the people that are taking on the responsibility of the NCLRA and I hope/know they will do what is needed.   I am one of the members that has let my participation drop as well as membership.   Part is physical and the other is $$$.    Not having a pilot to practice with and the desire to compete is another factor.  I still love racing.   Still have a Mouse I and a TQ rat ready to go.   Well Wichita is this coming weekend.   H^^

Hello Matt

First off; To the 27 members who sent in ballots in support of us, I thank you all.

We, (the new officers of the NCLRA) have just recently been given access to the information regarding all members past and present. We can now start to contact people. Forums like this are also helpful in getting the message out, as some past members may have moved, or their email addresses are no longer valid, or for many other reasons. The direction we want the NCLRA to move toward, was outlined in the campaign letters published in the newsletter. However, many past members would not have been able to access a copy of the newsletter, so I would be happy to provide the campaign statements on an individual basis. We are also looking towards the mail out of a questionnaire. While we have our vision of the direction we would like to see the NCLRA move towards, we also want input from current, past, and future members.

Currently, we are looking for a newsletter editor, and someone to manage the web site. As this is written, Mr Lee is still in possession of the web site and will remain so until a new webmaster can be found.

If you would like to tell me what direction you would like the NCLRA to move towards, please email me at: scaleracer@hotmail.com
I welcome any and all input.

Kindest regards,

Les Akre
Vice President NCLRA

Thanks for your quick reply  Les, and I appreciate your answer to my personal email, concerning my thoughts on the direction of the NCLRA. You have a clear understanding of the situation, and what needs to be accomplished   I hardily ask those former, and present members to send in their carefully thought out comments and suggestions to the this column, but especially to the NCLRA proper.

Attached is the June 2102 issue of the Torque Roll where the new leaders' campaign statement was printed. Obviously, I have a lot of comments regarding them, and they have been communicated to them in private e-mail.

Doc, you didn't get it since you haven't renewed your membership for 2012. As always, the April issue was the last for non-renewed members.

Matt,

Normally I do not frequent any of the online forums, but since I'm now the president of the NCLRA I will attempt to drop in on a regular bases.

Yes I do for see some changes to the current NCLRA Bylaws in the future.

Because the 2013 AMA Nationals Planning Meeting is September 15, 2012; the NCLRA must decide what and if any involvement the NCLRA will have in the 2013 C/LRacing Nationals.   If NCLRA wants to continue running the C/L Racing Nationals, we must decide on what events we want to run and know who will be the event director or event directors will be.  A questionnaire will be sent out to the current membership asking for input regarding the 2013 C/L Racing Nationals within a week.

Then we can take a deep breath settle down and find out what direction the membership wants the NCLRA to go in, and not jump into changes we will regret making in a year.

Melvin
