Michigan State Meet - LA 25 Race
« on: September 08, 2007, 06:52:04 PM »
We had our best finale to date with both models on the same lap most of the time.  The Brzys Family won by only a half lap in ten miles (140 laps with 3 pit stops).  The scorers just counted laps, so we don't have any times to display, but it was fast.

John Brzys used a Viko-style F2d wing converted to a profile design.  It featured a unique fuel shutoff of John's own design, and of course, minimal cost.  The body of the model provided the frame of the shutoof and two pennies were drilled to provide the top & bottom bearings.  It worked just like the $25 product.

The Macomb Country Team (Paul Smith & Currell Pattie) used an old Fox super slow combat plane, the Koala Bear, with the mandatory LA 25.  Because it had a 2.5 ounce stunt tank, it was necessary to meter in .8 ounces per stop.   This was Currell's debut into the world of "big plane" racing.
