LA 25 Sport Race - Rouge Park, May 16th.

We had three teams entered, a bit down from some years.  Maybe we can write that off to threatening weather and a spring the didn't give us much chance to test fly.

Brad LaPointe entered his Brodak Super Fly, which finished third in the 1400 lap race last September. Pat MacKenzie was at the wheel.  Unfortunately the airplane had given it's all in the marathon and came apart upon landing after a routine test hop.  3rd place, DNS.

The Brzys Brothers Racing Team was back with their usual Brodak Super Clown, this time featuring a chopper look with the flaps removed.  Jon in the centre and Ed in the pit.

I used my Scientific Giant Kingpin, freshly rehabed from the 1400 lapper, with Ron Colombo up.

The 140-lap (10 mile) final and only race went smoothly with my team entry eaking out a 1.5 lap victory, 9:37 to 9:41.  This was 3-pit stop race with a cold start.  The high wind and long grass made pitting a piece of work for the pilots, who handled it flawlessly.
