« on: May 07, 2007, 07:35:42 PM »

 Where would I get a plan for a Grymzyph  B Teamracer. ?

Was it ever published in a magazine, is there more than one version.

there was a picture on some site somewhere.Couldnt say it wasnt elegant.

                                                                             Thanks.

The designer and Builder is a fellow by the name of Don Burke.  dburke91@verizon.net

He may be able to help you out with a set of plans.

I have a ".DXF" file for the GRMZPFTR.  Any CAD program should be able to open it.  If a full size plot is needed the file can be taken to any Graphics business and plotted full size.  I don't use full size plans so I have never done it.

it was published as a rat racer for a 40 engine.  it might be just scaled down as a BTR.  i can send the magazine article as i have it on my racing cd.  i am leaving for st louis this afternoon but will return next tuesday.

Tom,

How to make one.  The GRMZPFTR is a full fuselage version of the GRMZPF 8 rat. Just add more fuselage, a canopy, a 1 oz tank, & 28 engine.  And here in the good old stuck in the mud USA, a two wheel gear.

Same areas and moments. Webra 28 and Magnum 28 have been used by me, 2nd at the 2003 NATS due to my mistakes.

I built something near that in the mid-late 60s.  Basically a BTR without a canopy, inverted Johnson BB36, half pan, and large tank.  Met it's demise at the '63 NATS, Los Alamitos. The down line broke during practice, three large loops, then pancake.  Lost everything.  The pan with what was left of the engine skittered down the ramp about 100 yds and hit the leg of my brother walking toward the hangar with his back to the circle.  He never saw it coming.  Weird how with all the radial directions the wreckage could travel, it had to pick that one and my bro on top of it!

"BURKE'S  LAW"  Sorry, Don. Couldn't resist. When my Ringmaster shucked a 2" wheel, it hit MY brother right square in the chest! Perfect. (the make of the wheel)
