Many of us knew Dennis Ward. The following was posted earlier this morning on the Barton site:

Dennis Ward passed away in the early hours of this [ Monday ] morning.
He was in hospital following a procedure.

At this moment my thoughts are for him and his immediate family, also Tony and Pete his team mates and control line racing in general.

So long a kingpin in our sport, I cannot, at this time, think of racing without him.

I will be expanding on this sad news in the near future.

I am devastated.
