Mouse and Rat(t)

These are pictures of Russ Green's B Team Racer.  In the final there was a fuel fire during a pit stop.  Pitman Bill Lee poured water on (and into) the airplane to put it out, then started the engine and launched it.  But....it was still on fire!!!  The second picture, shows Russ's next landing.  It is a little out of focus, but look at the inboard wing....what looks like a contrail is actually smoke escaping out of the leadout holes.  The plane flew that ~25 lap stint with a fire in the tank compartment.  The 3rd picture shows the damage.

Speed and Sport Unlimited

Thanks for the pictures David.  Tried to talk my son into thinking about Cabin Fever and the fun I had the one year I was there.  But, I guess it will be a dream even tho I know some top notch pilots are there,  I think he would also like Arizona.  Looking at the group picture they are having way too much fun.  DOC Holliday

I'll answer for David since he probably doesn't know. (BTW, that should have been "Speed and Formula Unlimited". Dave didn't catch the name of the event.)

The model in that picture is an "A" rat by Don Burke.
