AMA Scale Race
« on: December 25, 2023, 06:34:33 PM »
Thought this might light a fire for someone. These planes were built and raced by the late Sam Wood. Beautiful smooth glossy finishes he was know for, some kind of automotive paint. Rossi Mk3 power set up by Bobby Hemingway with Kelly props. Enjoy.

Thanks Walt. I remember racing with Sam.  Top notch planes!   Ahhh....the 'good old days'!

Does anyone remember those pre made carbon fiber AMA scale racers? They were Litl' Quickies, I think there were two versions for different engines. From Russia or??

I've never seen or heard of any such thing. The closest thing I can think of is the fiberglass Ohm Specials that Fogg and Shahan flew. They were translucent, so not carbon fiber. One was green, the other, orange.

The last I saw of the "green" translucent one was at the Nats back around 2010(?) being campaigned by the WilkFish.
