Brodak/Brad Walker Rock Crusher handle
« on: August 19, 2008, 02:42:19 PM »
I imagine most of you have seen either the posts here on SH about Brad's handle, or the article he wrote about it in CLW.  Its a nice piece of gear to have.  Here in Central Virginia, it has become the most popular type of handle overnight.  I think the Norfolk Aeromodelers have ordered about a dozen of them in the last few weeks.  I tried mine last Sunday, and was pleased with it.  I used the Randy Smith "Hello Kitty" line clips and was able to get a perfect neutral setting vs my old Windy handle.  The Rock Crusher is about the same size and weight of my Windy handle, so it was not much of an adjustment, but of course the Rock Crusher is vastly easier for setting overhang and line spacing, making experimentation and trimming easier.  Hard point handles are becoming much more prevalent these days, so don't overlook the Rock Crusher.  It works great and costs less, so you can have a handle for every plane hanging up there on the wall!
