List your equipment
« on: March 19, 2025, 04:34:37 PM »
I have a Ender 3 Pro. It’s box stock. The only upgrade is heavy duty springs for the bed. I mostly try and use good quality PETG filament.

My vinyl cutter is a Maker Air 2.

I have a couple machines. The first one is an Ultimaker which was a very good machine for its day. I produced a lot of parts on that machine and it is what I have learned a lot on. I now have Bambu Labs Carbon X1 which is a fantastic machine at a little over half what I paid for the Ultimaker.

For material we use on our CL airplanes I prefer using the CF impregnated PETG or Nylon. Nylon is more resilient and much less brittle. PLA is not suitable for anything we are doing here as it sags at fairly low temperatures. when it cool it is stiffer than both PETG or Nylon and it prints much nicer parts and is less finicky. BUT, the parts won't last in any kind of heat. I learned this lesson the hard way. Fortunately it wasn't a catastrophic event involving a mostly experimental part.

For my parts, I do all of my own development using Fusion 360.
