Twin Baby Ringmaster Kits
« on: December 02, 2011, 03:39:20 PM »
The drawings for the Twin Baby Ringmaster are complete. The airplane is for Cox .020 engines. It can use the TD 020 or the Pee Wee 020, or one of each. The airplane has a 28" wingspan (7" C/L fuselage to C/L fuselage)with 131 square inches of wing area. The rib profile is Eppler 479 in the straight section and modified Eppler 479 in the tapered outer portions. The wing is built with a partially formed leading edge and a spar with spar caps. The kits will be laser cut with landing gear wire, steel straps for the landing gear, bellcrank and control horn, and music wire for the pushrod. I will sell the first kits for $47.00 plus shipping and insurance.
Thanks, Pat
This and the full size airplane will be known as: "Twin Baby Ringmaster" and "Twin Ringmaster". I am working on the "Ringmaster Twin" which will have one fuselage and twin engines in nacelles.

Hi Pat,

Will this be a full fuselage or profile, and what engine sizes.?  Pat J has a short kit for the RM Twin he designed which uses two .20-.25 size engines and is full fuselage.

I would like to see that one in a profile 1/2A size (Cox .049 or Norvel/Wasp .061).

Thanks!
Bill

Bill,
The Ringmaster Twin is a profile for twin .15 to .20 engines, at 508 square inches it would be a combat ship with .25 or larger engines. I'll have to think on an .049 sized twin. Maaybe I could base the airplane on the Ringmaster Jr. wing. with 196 square inches that should be fine with a pair of .049 engines. My Ringmaster 150 will fly the complete pattern with a Norvel .049.

Thanks,  Pat
