Ringmaster Trainer II E

This is a 42” wingspan 381 square inch electric powered primary trainer. The airplane has a 3/8 thick balsa sheet wing. The wing and tailfeathers are attached to the airplane with rubber bands. The airplane is designed for the RSM25SYS power system from RSM Distribution. The systems come pre tested and set-up for flip the switch and fly. The system uses a 35-36 outrunner. A larger airplane is much easier to fly than a 1/2A size airplane. The airplanes have CAD plans with full size templates of all the parts.

Here is the finished airplane. The web strap that goes around the wing and battery is not on the airplane. The strap is to ensure the battery and airplane do not part ways in a negative G environment.
I have one of the electric kits and two of the fuel powered kits in stock. The electric kits are $93.00 total in the lower 48. The fuel kits are $85.00 total in the lower 48.

I weighed the airplane today, with the battery it weighs 37 oz. Not light, but not any heavier than many old S1 Ringmasters.

What line weight and line length would you recommend for this?

What battery does it take?

Phil,
My airplane weighs 37 oz. all up. The AMA says that the lines should be .012 stranded or 40 lb. test Spectra. I would fly with 60' lines. The set-up from RSM comes with a 3300 mAh 3S 25C Battery.

We had a ball flying the Ringmaster Trainer IIE Saturday.  My son used it to get some first flights teaching my 10 year old grandson to fly.  He flew it 5 times with the only mishap a nose over take off.  I set the Hubin FM9 to 1 minute flights at 10,500 rpm.  I reduced it to 10,000 rpm after the first flight. It was a little too fast for a beginner. Then increased flight time to 2 minutes for the last flight.  Came in a bit heavy at 40 oz. Part of that is a result of using aluminum landing gear from a Brodak 38 Special and 1.2 oz of wing weight.  Set up is Arrowind 2815-09 / Castle Creations 50 Lite ESC / Hubin FM-9 timer / Nano Tech 2200 4S batteries / 9 x 6 EP prop / 60' .018 lines.  I am going to change lines to .015 x 57' for the next foray.  I flew it also it and it is a solid stable platform. Perfect for beginner trainer.

Thanks for the report. I am glad you are having fun with the airplane. For those who prefer an Nitro power I have two kits in stock for the fuel powered version, The Ringmaster Trainer II .
