PT 17 Kit Survey
« on: February 05, 2011, 08:43:21 AM »
Which would you be most likely to buy?
32 1/4" wingspan, 301 square inch, built-up wing, profile fuselage PT 17 for .19 to .35
22 9/16" wingspan, 148 square inch, built-up wing, profile fuselage PT 17 for 1/2A
22 9/16" wingspan, 148 square inch, sheet wing, profile fuselage PT 17 for 1/2A
I want to do a profile PT 17, but want to know which one to spend my time on.  y1

Thanks,  Pat

The 32 1/4" would be a real dream build for me, but the small sheet wing would be just way to much fun....and the grandkid could fly it too!   So I guess the sheet wing for me....but the big one would be sooooo cool!  Hope this helps.H^^

Thanks Glenn,
All input helps. We will see which one I do first. Will probably do the big one and one of the 1/2A size airplanes.

The design drawing is coming along for the 32 1/4" airplane. Once the design file is done I will do the formal plans drawing and the parts drawing for the laser cutting. The slanted N-Struts make the construction interesting. I think I have come up with a decent method of doing that. I will keep this updated. I will probably build one of these, the PT 17 is one of my favorite airplanes. #^

I would be most interested in a PT-17 with built up wing in 1/2A

It will be a bit before the PT 17 1/2A airplane with the built-up wings is available. It will be a 1/16 scale airplane for beam mount engines. It will have a 24 3/16" wingspan and 169.4 square inches of wing area.

Thanks,  Pat
